What is vz 52?

The Vz. 52, also known as the Czechoslovak Model 52, was a bolt-action rifle originally designed and produced by Czechoslovakia in the early 1950s. It was adopted as the standard issue rifle for the Czechoslovak army in 1952.

The Vz. 52 was chambered in the 7.62x45mm cartridge and featured a unique interrupted thread breech locking system. It had a detachable magazine that held 10 rounds and was fed through the bottom of the rifle.

The rifle had a wooden stock and a barrel length of 20 inches. The overall length of the rifle was 43 inches, and it weighed approximately 10 pounds.

The Vz. 52 was eventually replaced by the Vz. 58 rifle in the late 1950s, but it saw some use by other countries and militias around the world. Today, the Vz. 52 is considered a collector's item and can sometimes be found on the surplus market.
